REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL WORK EXPERIENCE CLASSES
- Employed in a job, paid or unpaid, with a properly
licensed business
- Complete Orientation, required of all students taking their first semester of Work Experience: Choices include in-class Orientation OR the Orientation DVD found in the front of your Work Experience Handbook. Orientation to be completed at the start of the semester
- Write 4 on-the-job objectives to improve your 21st Century Work Skills
- Meet with your Work Experience instructor and job
supervisor twice during the semester at the job site
- Write a 3 page report about the changes or improvements in your work skills during the semester
- Complete 4 hours of work-related seminars or activities
- Work required hours per semester to earn credit
ORIENTATION
Orientation is required for all students taking Work
Experiences.
- You may attend one of the in-person
orientations (Orientation Schedule) or
- Watch the DVD orientation provided with your handbook or
- Watch the streaming video on the web page (see links below)
- For credit, complete the form at the conclusion of the video or class Orientation Credit Form
We encourage all students to review their DVD orientation video throughout the semester.

HOW TO ENROLL IN THE RIGHT CLASS
WRK EX97 (General Work Experience)
This class is for students whose jobs are not related to their educational goals. This is a graded course.
Example: You're a communications major, but you work at Juice Shack.
Students may earn one to six units in one semester.
May be taken for a total of six units or four semesters.
WEOC 99 (Occupational Work Experience)
This class is for students whose jobs directly relate to their
declared major. This is a graded course.
Example: You're a communications major, and you work at a newspaper or radio station.
Students may earn one to eight units in one semester.
Students may take this course for a maximum of 16 units or four semesters.
