Santa Rosa Junior College Women's Volleyball is off to a terrific start this season.  They go into their third week of league play with a 5-0 record and have three more weeks to get tuned up for their Big 8 Conference opener at home on October 3rd against Sac City College.

Kelly began her career at Santa Rosa Junior College as a student in 1992.  She participated on the volleyball and the basketball teams while at SRJC.  She then transferred to Sonoma State University where she played two more years on the volleyball team.  She was an all conference and all region athlete while at SSU.  After her senior season of volleyball at SSU, she returned to SRJC to assist her former coach, Diane Campagna.  She then graduated from SSU in 1997 with a degree in Psychology.  Kelly continued assisting at SRJC until 2000 when she had the opportunity to be the interim head coach for a season.  The Bear Cubs made it to the state tournament that season, and finished 7th in the state.  After the 2001 season, Kelly was hired as the head volleyball coach after Diane Campagna retired from coaching.  Kelly has been the head coach since 2002, and has led the team to the NorCal playoffs every year of her career. The 2007 season was the most successful season yet.  The team went to the state tournament and finished 5th overall.  In 2004 Kelly completed her Masters degree in Education from Chapman University. She is still actively participating in volleyball on the outdoor grass circuit in Northern California.  Kelly currently resides in Rincon Valley with her husband Greg, and her children, Mason and Olivia. 

Assistant Coaches

Greg Railsback

Greg Railsback
Greg is an outstanding coach who brings another element to the team. Greg has played at the professional level as a grass player, and AAA as a sand player. He has played for a total of 14 years. Greg is a West Coast Regional Cobra Net Systems Representative and has been involoved in running outdoor tournaments for 14 years. He has been assisting at SRJC for 6 years.

Dani Gardner

Dani Gardner
Dani is a graduate of Analy High School, where she was a three sport standout.  She played volleyball, basketball, and softball.  She attended Santa Rosa Jr. College in 2004-2006, where she participated on the volleyball and softball teams.  Her sophomore year she was chosen by her coaches to be the team captain due to her fair and dedicated attitude.  She then transferred to Sonoma State and was a standout on their club volleyball team.  She graduated from SSU in Spring 2008, with a degree in Business Administration.  Dani began assisting the SRJC volleyball team in 2006. Dani brings a very positive attitude to the coaching staff, and has been a welcome addition.  Dani is also working for Cisco Systems as an intern for the manufacturing manager.  When Dani is not in school or working she is an avid world traveler.  She also plays grass volleyball, and competes at the AA level.  

Claire Halloway

Claire is a graduate of El Molino High School where she participated on the volleyball, basketball, track, and softball teams.  Claire was a member of the 1999 state championship El Molino High School team.  She was a student at Santa Rosa Junior College from 2002-2004.  Her sophomore year she was chosen by her coaches to be the team captain.  She was named all conference and all northern California after her sophomore year.  She transferred to Chico State and finished her collegiate career as a Wildcat.  She graduated in 2006 with a degree in Public Relations, and a minor in Psychology.  Claire currently works at Copia, the American Center for wine, food and the arts. Claire has had three years of coaching experience at the Middle School level, where she coached at her Alma Mater, Salmon Creek, for three years.  This will be her second year assisting at SRJC.

Paul Castillo

Paul Castillo
Paul is in his fifth year of assisting at SRJC.  He is a student at Sonoma State University where he is studying Psychology.  He plays for the men’s club team at SSU as well.  He also participates on the northern California grass circuit at the AA level.  Paul is a great asset to the Bear Cubs coaching staff.  He brings great enthusiasm to the team, and always has helpful and constructive feedback for the athletes.
