Men's Soccer traveled to New York during the first week of September to battle with their national rivals Herkimer and Genesee College. In the opening game, Herkimer and Santa Rosa battled closely to a 0-0 score at half. Herkimer scored off a free kick early in the second half and the Cubs became more aggressive on offense unfortunately leading to a second Herkimer goal resulting in a 0-2 loss for SRJC. However, the Cubs rallied for a strong showing in their second game against Genesee winning with a score of 3-1. While in New York the Cubs were able to visit the Statue of Liberty, the Soccer Hall of Fame, and even attended a Yankees game in the Bronx. Coach Kinahan and the entire team would like to thank all of you who helped in their fundraising efforts, making this once in a lifetime trip possible.
